A man suspected of committing domestic violence has been arrested in Bishkek.
According to information provided by the Internal Affairs Department of the Sverdlovsk District, on January 27, 2026, a woman named M.D. contacted law enforcement. She reported that her husband had subjected her to both physical and psychological abuse for a long time.
The police noted that protective orders had previously been issued against this man for similar cases. Nevertheless, he allegedly continued to commit unlawful acts, according to the investigation.
A criminal case has been initiated against the man under part 3 of Article 138 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning "Torture." The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation into this case is ongoing.
