In the city of Kant, an employee of a pawnshop has been detained on suspicion of embezzling funds amounting to 4 million soms.
According to the press service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui region, on January 11, a citizen named T.K. reported to the police about the need to take action against a pawnshop employee known as U.P.
The suspect, holding the position of appraiser and cashier, was issuing fictitious loans with inflated valuations and embezzling the received money.
The investigation has established that the criminal activities took place from November 2024 to December 31, 2025.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning embezzlement and misappropriation of entrusted property. The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
