- In Talas, state ownership of water intakes classified as category "B" has been restored, as reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) on February 9.

“During operational search activities, the GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic found that in 2003, the head of the public association 'Toboy' 'S.T.D.' together with officials from the Talas branch of the State Enterprise 'Cadastre' and the State Enterprise 'Talas Main Water Management' carried out illegal privatization of life support facilities,” the agency noted.

In 2003, using the official position of employees of state institutions and resorting to official forgery, the head of the public association 'Toboy' 'S.T.D.' transferred the water intakes to the balance of his association, after which he handed them over to private ownership. The land plots included in the transaction are 1.7 ha, 0.68 ha, and 1 ha, and the value of the facilities along with the infrastructure is estimated at 36,415,400 soms,” the GKNB added.

As a result of the investigative activities carried out, these facilities, which are vital for life support, were returned to state ownership.
