The demonstration, which involved several thousand people, was organized in protest against the environmental, economic, and social consequences of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games. At one point, about 100 participants broke away from the main group and began clashing with the police.

Protesters used stones, smoke bombs, and also launched fireworks and pyrotechnics towards law enforcement. In response, the police used water cannons, tear gas, and batons. As a result of the clashes, six people were detained.
