A man was detained in Karakol for distributing extremist materials
A local resident was detained in Karakol on suspicion of distributing extremist materials posted on social networks. This was reported by the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region.

According to law enforcement information, the man posted on his Facebook page content taken from the Turkiston-kg page. An examination conducted by forensic linguists and religious scholars established that these materials are related to the religious extremist group "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami," which has been banned in Kyrgyzstan since 2003.

A criminal case has been initiated under the article concerning the production and distribution of extremist materials. As a result of a court ruling by the Karakol City Court, the detainee has been placed in custody for one month.
