According to the information from the victim, a man wrote to him on WhatsApp, introducing himself as an employee of the State Committee for National Security. He offered his services for the sum of 17 thousand dollars, promising to help free the accused in a criminal case from the detention center. As a result, he deceived the trusting individual.
This case was registered under Article 209 ("Fraud") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek detained the suspect, identified as A.T., born in 1988, who had previously had legal troubles. Since 2022, he had been on the international wanted list and is now placed in a temporary detention facility.
An investigation is currently underway.
