A tragic incident occurred in Bishkek on Kuliev Street, resulting in a young man killing a young woman, as reported by the city’s Main Internal Affairs Directorate.
According to information received on January 26, 2026, at 09:01, a report was made to the duty station about a stabbing incident at one of the hotels on Kuliev Street, resulting in the young woman dying at the scene.
An investigative operational group and the district management promptly arrived at the scene. According to their data, the names of the participants—D.M. and R.E.—are known, and it is being established that they had a long-term romantic relationship.
On that day, the couple was consuming alcoholic beverages when an argument broke out between them. During the conflict, R.E. inflicted a stab wound to D.M.'s arm, to which he responded by stabbing the young woman in the neck.
In connection with the incident, the Investigative Service of the Lenin District Internal Affairs Directorate has initiated a criminal case under Article 122 (Murder) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Currently, the suspect D.M., born in 2002, has been detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek in accordance with the provisions of Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The police are conducting all necessary measures to establish the circumstances of this crime.
