In Osh, a police officer was detained for extorting money from foreigners.
Knowing that foreign citizens lacked the necessary permits, he demanded monthly payments ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 soms in exchange for so-called "protection." Otherwise, he threatened them with fines and deportation.
After conducting the necessary investigative actions, in accordance with Articles 96 and 97 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, Lieutenant U.O.Sh. was placed in the temporary detention facility of the State National Security Committee. The investigation is currently ongoing.
