The GKNB detained a district police officer of Osh for "protection" of labor migrants
According to the investigation, police lieutenant U.O.Sh., who works in the GOM-3 of the Osh Department of Internal Affairs, exerted pressure on foreign citizens working in the city. Aware that the migrants lacked the necessary permits, he demanded monthly payments ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 soms for "protection." Otherwise, he threatened them with fines and deportation.
The suspect was detained on January 21 when he received money from the migrants. He is currently being held in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB.
Investigative activities are ongoing, and other individuals involved in this case are being identified.
