A man has been detained in Sokuluk for torturing his mother.

On January 22, the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region reported the arrest of a suspect in the cruel treatment of his mother.

A 67-year-old woman contacted the Internal Affairs Department of the Sokuluk district on January 3, expressing concern about her son's behavior. According to her, while in a state of alcohol intoxication, he regularly subjected her to physical and psychological abuse.

Based on this information, a criminal case was initiated under Article 138 ("Torture") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The law enforcement authorities arrested 45-year-old Sh.A., who is now in a temporary detention facility.

The investigation into the case is currently ongoing.
