The State Committee for National Security will check pawnshops after uncovered schemes related to predatory loans.

At the meeting, where the detained individual involved in the case was also present, Tashiev discussed the serious consequences faced by citizens: their apartments, land plots, and commercial real estate were seized.

According to the agency, the detainee, who has several previous convictions, had been issuing loans at deliberately unacceptable interest rates for a long time. Subsequently, he used the debts obtained to illegally re-register citizens' property, resorting to the assistance of affiliated individuals and controlled notaries. During the investigation, instances of pressure, threats, and possible connections of the detainee with representatives of state structures were uncovered.

Special attention in the investigation is being given to the residential complex projects Silk Road (LLC Expert Stroy) and LLC Arz Development. It has been established that, having received plots for shared construction, the suspect obstructed the implementation of these projects by initiating arrests, contract terminations, and making illegal demands. Currently, 89 shareholders and several individuals have been recognized as victims, and the damage is classified as particularly large.

Kamchybek Tashiev noted that he is personally overseeing this case. He instructed the GKNB units to identify all those involved, provide a legal assessment of the actions of officials, and ensure maximum compensation for the victims.

Additionally, the head of the GKNB ordered a comprehensive inspection of pawnshops across the country, including an analysis of interest rates and loan conditions.
