Kamchybek Tashiev instructed to check all pawnshops

During a meeting with citizens who became victims of illegal activities related to the pawnshop run by S. M., Kamchybek Tashiev, Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), reminded that the maximum interest rate on loans should not exceed 30%.
He emphasized that the 30% includes all possible additional fees.

“We are observing cases where pawnshops set interest rates at 40, 50, 60, and even 100%. This is absolutely illegal. All such organizations that violate the usury law must be held accountable,” Tashiev stated, instructing a check of all pawnshops with the involvement of the State Tax Service and the National Bank.

“Exceeding 30% is not allowed. If funds are seized above this amount, they must be returned to the owners. We cannot ignore this when citizens are left without their homes and cars. It is important for us that our people do not suffer,” added the head of the GKNB.
