Since the beginning of the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, which started on February 24, 2022, and until January 13, 2026, it has been confirmed that at least 163,606 Russian servicemen have died. This data was reported by Deutsche Welle and is based on an updated list prepared by journalists from the Russian service of the BBC and the publication "Mediazona" in collaboration with volunteers, using information from open sources.

The highest number of casualties among Russian military personnel is observed in the age group of 36-38 years, where 15,997 deaths have been recorded, followed by those aged 33-35 with a casualty count of 15,673. However, it is worth noting that this list is not exhaustive, as not all information about losses is available to the public.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of December 12, 2025, the total losses of the Russian army, including killed and wounded, amounted to approximately 1,186,480 people since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

Last week, the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine reached a duration comparable to the Great Patriotic War. January 11, 2026, became the 1,418th day of armed aggression by Russia, initiated at the direction of President Vladimir Putin.
