According to human rights defenders from the "NeMolchi" foundation, the tragedy occurred in the family home on the day when all relatives gathered to celebrate the girl's birthday.
It is worth noting that the mother of the victim contacted the foundation on the night of April 6, 2025, immediately after the incident, while taking her daughter for a medical examination.
Representatives of the foundation expressed gratitude to the investigative authorities and the court for their work, noting that the sentence was fair. They also thanked the girl's mother for her courage in making the right decision. As emphasized by the foundation, many families in similar situations would prefer not to contact law enforcement, but this woman chose to protect her daughter. Despite pressure from some relatives who insisted on not punishing the grandfather, the woman showed resilience. The accused, realizing that he had committed a crime, attempted to flee after his arrest and spent almost a day covering his tracks before being caught by the police. The girl's mother, despite the heavy consequences, stood up for her daughter, even though she herself had to face the loss of her family, job, and peace of mind. The psychological state of the girl remains complicated, and both of them need help, but they managed to endure the trials, and the mother showed her daughter that she is under reliable protection," the "NeMolchi" foundation reported.
