The law enforcement agencies of Moscow detained 21-year-old Aina Mankieva, a native of Ingushetia, on suspicion of theft. The girl left her home in the spring of 2025 without personal belongings and documents, escaping years of violence. Human rights activists express concerns that she may be returned to her family. This was reported by Forbes.

In the police, Aina was accused of sexualized violence by her relatives. Despite this, the girl was released, and she was not handed over to the Ingush authorities. Human rights activists confirmed that she managed to leave the police station and that she "is in relative safety."

Aina Mankieva, who has a visual disability, was raised in a large and low-income family. After one of the incidents of violence, she fell seriously ill and did not leave the house for eight months. In April, before her escape, the girl recorded a video message urging no one to look for her, as returning home could threaten her safety and health.
