In 2025, Kyrgyzstan achieved significant success in the export of tourism services, generating an income of 1.098 billion US dollars, which is 8.1% higher than the results of 2024. This information was provided by the Ministry of Economy.
Tourism in the country continues to be one of the most important sectors, which not only creates jobs but also contributes to regional development, positively impacting related industries. By the end of the year, the share of the tourism sector in the gross domestic product was 3.8%, and the gross added value reached 74.4 billion soms.
The increase in income was made possible by a number of factors, including:
— active promotion of Kyrgyzstan on the international stage;
— improvement of tourism infrastructure and the quality of services provided;
— expansion of the geography of tourist flows;
— growth of domestic tourism and entrepreneurial activity in the regions.
Today, about 129,000 business entities operate in the tourism sector, highlighting the high level of business involvement and the importance of this sector for the socio-economic progress of the country.
Moreover, the achieved results are set against the backdrop of a transition to a sustainable tourism development model, where key priorities include environmental sustainability, preservation of cultural heritage, and balanced regional development.
