As part of an extensive multi-year study involving over 50,000 participants, it was found that small lifestyle changes, such as increasing sleep duration and physical activity, can significantly reduce the likelihood of serious cardiovascular diseases, including heart attack and stroke. According to the publication Hitech+, researchers are confident that everyone can make such changes.

The study is based on data collected from more than 52,000 men and women, who were monitored for an average of eight years. The results showed that even small improvements in three key behavioral aspects can have significant clinical importance, as reported on the website of the European Society of Cardiology.

The key factors for reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases were changes in diet, sleep quality, and physical activity levels. Scientists found that sleeping for 8-9 hours, engaging in moderate physical activity for 42 minutes daily, and adding a quarter cup of vegetables can reduce risks by 57%.

Even minimal adjustments, such as increasing sleep time by 11 minutes and physical activity by 5 minutes, also have an impact, reducing risks by 10%. "Simple changes can significantly improve cardiovascular health," the researchers noted.
