Nets the Length of Three Football Fields: 300 Meters of Illegal Gear Extracted from the Bottom of Issyk-Kul
According to a report from the Ministry of Nature of Kyrgyzstan, today inspectors removed 300 meters of illegal fishing nets from the waters of Issyk-Kul.
The cleaning of the water area is being carried out as part of Presidential Decree No. 131 of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning urgent measures to protect the ecology of Issyk-Kul. These synthetic nets, which were retrieved during a raid on March 23, pose a threat to fish and the lake's ecosystem.
The Ministry reminds that the use of synthetic nets causes irreparable harm to the country's natural resources.
Raids to clean water bodies and combat poaching will be conducted regularly until the problem is fully resolved.
The record "A net the length of three football fields: 300 meters of illegal gear retrieved from the bottom of Issyk-Kul" first appeared on the K-News website.
