In Bishkek, a citizen named M.T. approached the First May District Police Department with a statement.
He reported that on March 14, 2026, at around 1:00 PM, near a store located in the residential area of "Kölmö," unidentified individuals, taking advantage of the fact that he had gone inside, stole a "Samsung A17" mobile phone and 200,000 soms from his unlocked "Honda Accord." After that, the criminals fled in a "Hyundai Sonata."
In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 205 (theft) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bishkek City Police, conducting operational-search activities, detained the suspects: B.K., born in 2000, N.R., born in 1996, and E.A., born in 1991, who had previously been convicted and were registered as pickpockets. The detainees were taken to the investigative service of the First May District Police Department and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police.
A citizen named N.S., who worked in one of the shopping centers and was involved in the purchase of stolen mobile phones, was also identified. He had 9 mobile phones of various models, presumably obtained through criminal means, seized from him.
The investigation revealed that the criminals moved around the city in a rented car, selecting potential victims. Upon discovering unlocked vehicles, they committed thefts.
At present, the detainees are suspected of more than 10 similar crimes. Investigative actions are ongoing.
The Bishkek City Police appeal to citizens:
Dear residents and guests of the capital! We urge you to be vigilant, not to leave vehicles unlocked, and not to leave valuables unattended. In case of criminal actions, immediately report to the internal affairs authorities at number 102.
