Hunting for open cars: a group of serial thieves was caught in Bishkek
Employees of the Bishkek Department of Internal Affairs reported the detention of a group of car thieves suspected of more than ten thefts. The information was provided by the press service of the department.

According to law enforcement agencies, the incident occurred on March 14 near a store in the "Kolmo" residential area, when a citizen named M.T. reported a theft from his unlocked Honda Accord. The criminals stole a Samsung A17 mobile phone and 200,000 soms, after which they fled in a Hyundai Sonata.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 205 (theft) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.


As a result of operational measures, officers of the criminal investigation department detained the suspects, among whom were previously convicted individuals B.K. (born in 2000), N.R. (1996), and E.A. (1991), who were already registered as pickpockets. They have been placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek Department of Internal Affairs in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

A citizen named N.S. was also identified, who worked in a shopping center and bought stolen mobile phones. Nine devices of various models, which were reportedly obtained illegally, were seized from him.

Law enforcement agencies reported that the suspects used a rented car to move around the city, tracking victims and committing thefts from unlocked cars.

The investigation has established that they are involved in at least ten similar crimes. Operational actions are ongoing.

The Department of Internal Affairs urges citizens to exercise caution, not to leave their cars unlocked, and not to leave valuable items unattended. In case of discovering crimes, please contact number 102.
