Zaparov: Naryn invests in agriculture and product export

During the celebration of Nowruz in Naryn, President Sadyr Japarov emphasized the importance of agriculture for the region, where livestock farming is the main focus. He noted that the agricultural sector requires serious attention and cannot be ignored.

According to Japarov, the foundation of the region's economy is livestock breeding, which includes the production of meat and milk. In recent years, there has been an increase in both the number of livestock and the volume of production.

“Currently, projects worth about 2 billion soms are being implemented in the region, aimed at creating clusters in the fields of meat, milk, honey, feed, and vegetables with fruits. It is particularly pleasing that honey produced in Naryn is exported to countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, and Japan,” the president added.

Sadyr Japarov also noted that despite the region being located in mountainous terrain and receiving water from the mountains, the issue of irrigation remains relevant. Over the past five years, about 3 billion soms have been invested in improving the irrigation system.

As part of these activities, work has been carried out to restore, level, and concrete channels, as well as to repair hydraulic engineering stations, pumping stations, and hydroposts.

“This year, the commissioning of the Tugol-Sai reservoir in Jumgal and the Shamsy BDR in Kochkor is planned. This will improve irrigation on 4,294 hectares and provide water supply for irrigation of an additional 3,306 hectares of new land,” the president concluded.
