President Sadyr Japarov spoke at the Nowruz celebration in Naryn, where he discussed significant efforts to improve the irrigation system in the region. Despite Naryn being located in mountainous terrain and receiving water from mountain sources, irrigation issues still persist.
According to the president, approximately 3 billion soms have been allocated for the modernization of the irrigation system over the past five years. As part of this program, work has been carried out to restore, level, and concrete channels, as well as to repair hydraulic structures, including pumping stations and hydroposts.
“This year, we plan to put into operation the Tugal-Sai reservoir in Jumgal and the Shamsy BDR in Kochkor. This will improve irrigation on 4,294 hectares, and an additional 3,306 hectares of new land will also gain access to water resources for irrigation,” the president noted.
