EAEU Countries Recommended to Standardize the Issuance and Validity Periods of Special Permits for International Road Transport of Hazardous Goods
The EEC Board confirmed unified approaches to simplifying a number of procedures related to obtaining special permits for the transportation of hazardous goods.
These recommendations pertain to international road transport along routes included in the list of Eurasian transport corridors and routes.
The document outlines general recommendations for member states regarding the timelines for issuing and the validity of special permits, as well as the application form and necessary information.
In particular, EAEU states are suggested to establish the following timeframes:
a) the issuance period for a special permit should not exceed 6 working days;
b) the validity period of the special permit — a maximum period of 1 calendar year.
“The implementation of these recommendations will simplify the process of issuing and obtaining special permits for carriers, as well as help reduce costs for transport and logistics and control procedures,” commented Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the EEC.
