- The press service of OJSC "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" announced the start of several key projects in the energy sector.

The list of projects includes the following initiatives:

1. Modernization of energy infrastructure in the Issyk-Kul region:

Project "Dolinka - Rechnaya" (with the support of EBRD):

As part of the project, the modernization of the 110/10 kV "Dolinka" substation and the reconstruction of the 35/10 kV "Rechnaya" substation with a transition to a voltage level of 110 kV are planned. This will provide energy to new five-star hotels in the village of Kara-Oy and important international facilities.

220 kV overhead line "Tamga-Karakol" (financed by ADB):

The project includes the construction of a new 220 kV overhead line and the "Tamga" and "Karakol" substations, which will significantly enhance the reliability of the region's energy system.

2. Creation of a 500 kV main line "Kemin-Balykchy" (EBRD)

To eliminate the power deficit in the northern part of the country, a 52.7 km long 500 kV overhead line and a new 500 kV substation "Balykchy" will be constructed. This project aims to strengthen the energy security of the Kyrgyz Republic.

3. Development of renewable energy sources and innovative technologies in the south of the country

220 kV substation "Isanova" (with the support of the World Bank):

As part of the renewable energy development initiative, the construction of the 220 kV "Isanova" substation (2x200 MVA) in the Osh region is underway to integrate new capacities into the existing network.

Digitalization and resilience (World Bank/SECO):

A large-scale project is planned for the implementation of "smart" meters (automated commercial metering system), replacement of outdated transformers, and upgrading of lines (SIP wires). The active deployment of the SCADA management system is also ongoing.

4. Construction of a training center (JICA)

The construction of the NESK Training Center will begin, which will be implemented according to the ZEB concept (zero energy building).

The center will be equipped with solar generators and energy storage systems.

There are also plans to install relay protection and monitoring simulators to train specialists in accordance with international standards.

As noted by the company, "the implementation of these projects will not only renew the physical infrastructure but also create a solid foundation for connecting new industrial and tourist facilities, reduce technical losses, and prepare a new generation of specialists in the field of energy."
