EAEU Countries Consider the "Mariel" Special Development Zone in Cuba as a Logistics Hub for Export
During the negotiations, various areas of cooperation were discussed, including the agro-industrial sector, industry, measures to ensure free trade, as well as issues related to transport and infrastructure.
The representatives of the EAEU and Cuba emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the business communities, which, in turn, can facilitate the implementation of joint projects.
"The Cuban side expressed interest in using the infrastructure of the special development zone 'Mariel' as a logistics center, which will open new opportunities for increasing trade volumes between EAEU member states and Latin American and Caribbean countries," the EEC reported.
In addition, Imanaliev noted that the draft plan of joint activities between the EEC and the Government of the Republic of Cuba for 2026 – 2030 is already at a high stage of readiness.
