It is worth noting that Bishkek has been facing serious environmental problems for many years: up to 1,500 tons of waste are taken to the landfill daily, and there has been no comprehensive solution to this issue. The opening of this eco-technological plant, which has become the first in Central Asia, is an important step in the fight against waste and improving the environmental situation in the capital.
Investments in the project amounted to 95 million US dollars. It is expected to process up to 365,000 tons of waste per year and launch a condensing turbo-generator power plant with a capacity of 30 MW.
Currently, the plant is already capable of processing up to 1,000 tons of waste per day, with the potential for phased increases in this capacity.
