On February 27, an excursion took place at the sanitary landfill in Bishkek to an eco-technological plant that generates electricity from solid household waste. The event was organized for the authorized representatives of the president, akims, and mayors of cities. Information about the event was provided by the city administration.
The Deputy Mayor of Bishkek, Ramiz Aliyev, conducted the tour, familiarizing participants with modern waste recycling methods and electricity production.
During the visit, the delegation studied the operation of the enterprise, the technological processes of waste processing, as well as the ecological safety system and innovative technologies used in production. Participants received detailed information about the plant's design capacity and the volumes of electricity generated.
The city administration noted that Bishkek has long faced serious environmental problems, as about 1,500 tons of waste are taken to the landfill daily, and there has been no comprehensive solution to this problem. The opening of the first eco-technological plant in Central Asia has become an important step in improving the waste and ecological situation in the city.
The total investment in the project amounted to 95 million US dollars. The plant is capable of processing up to 365,000 tons of waste per year and includes a condensing turbo-generator power plant with a capacity of 30 MW.
Currently, the enterprise can process up to 1,000 tons of waste per day, with a phased increase in its capacity planned.
