In 2026, the launch of 13 small hydropower plants is expected, which will have a total capacity of 80.6 MW, as well as solar power plants with a capacity of 850 MW. This was announced at a republican meeting held on February 27 at "Yntymak Ordo," where the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Erlis Akunbekov spoke.

He also noted that in 2025, the construction of 8 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 44.6 MW was completed, and a solar power plant with a capacity of 100 MW was commissioned in the Kemin district.
In addition, the total capacity of energy facilities increased by 213.6 MW, including the commissioning of the CASA-1000 power transmission line connecting Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Currently, work is actively ongoing to launch the second unit of the Kambar-Ata HPP-2, which will have a capacity of 120 MW.
Investors have also been identified, and agreements have been signed for the implementation of the following projects: the construction of the Kazarman HPP cascade with a total capacity of 912 MW and the Suusamyr-Kokomerene cascade with a capacity of 1,305 MW.

In Kara-Keche, it is planned to build a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1,200 MW, as well as a number of solar and wind power plants with a total capacity of over 5,450 MW.
