Starting May 1, the electricity tariff will be 1.64 soms per kWh, - Minister Ibraev
Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev announced that starting from May 1, 2026, the electricity tariff will be 1.64 soms per kWh, and by 2030 it will increase to 3.40 soms per kWh.
Additionally, starting from May 1 of this year, a night tariff will be introduced for commercial consumers, which will be 25% lower than the daytime tariff.
According to the minister, the gradual increase in tariffs is necessary to cover the rising costs of electricity imports, as well as to modernize infrastructure and build new production capacities, including the Kambar-Ata-1 hydropower plant and renewable energy projects.
The meeting also discussed the current achievements of the Ministry of Energy and plans for further development of the sector.
