Former Deputy Osmon Turdumambetov reported pressure during the elections in 2025

Turdumambetov, who is a representative of the "Onuguu-Progress" party, planned to participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for November 2025. He has already submitted all the necessary documents to the Central Election Commission and paid an electoral deposit of 300,000 soms. However, according to him, these funds have not yet been returned to him.

The politician also mentioned that part of his team has already gone to Toktogul, where a campaign headquarters was opened and preparations for the election campaign began. But on November 2, when he was heading to Toktogul, employees of the State Committee for National Security detained him in Kara-Balta and then transported him to Bishkek. According to him, there, under pressure, he was forced to sign a statement refusing to participate in the elections "of his own accord."

After signing the document, Turdumambetov stated that he was prohibited from making any publications about what happened on his social media. He also expressed concerns about provocations and pressure on his supporters and campaigners.

In his address, the former deputy pointed to the possible involvement of some candidates in the incident, but expressed hope for an official investigation. In his opinion, if a criminal case is initiated, it will help clarify all the circumstances and the roles of all participants. He also hopes for a review of the election results in constituency No. 14 and for a repeat vote.

Osmon Turdumambetov has experience working in the Tax Service, where he held the position of head in several districts, and was a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh from 2020 to 2021 from the "Onuguu-Progress" party.

It should be noted that the elections for deputies of the VIII convocation took place on November 30, 2022.
