According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, a criminal case has been initiated regarding bribery among officials.
A citizen named K.Sh., born in 1969, filed a complaint with the police requesting an investigation into the actions of the head of the correctional institution of the State Penitentiary Service (SPS).
The investigation established that in December 2025, the mentioned official received a bribe of 30 thousand US dollars for facilitating the early conditional release of a convict serving a sentence under Article 209 "Fraud".
Based on this incident, the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under Article 342 "Receiving a Bribe" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During operational activities, T.M., the former head of colony No. 27 of the SPS, was detained. He is currently held in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Department of Internal Affairs, where necessary investigative actions are ongoing.
