The Housing Committee approved the ratification of the protocol on changing the status of border crossing points with Kazakhstan.
Deputy Director of the State Border Service Marat Maralbaev, presenting the report, stated that the protocol changes the status of two border crossing points:
- The "Kamyshanovka-Road" ("Tömönkü-Chüy-Road") and "Kichi-Kapka-Road" points are being transitioned from a bilateral to a multilateral (international) regime;
- The "Kamyshanovka-Road" point will now operate around the clock, instead of being limited to daylight hours.
Maralbaev noted that these changes are aimed at improving conditions for tourism development, increasing the flow of goods and passengers, as well as modernizing the infrastructure of border areas.
The committee unanimously supported the draft law in the first reading.
