Janar Akayev has become the new mayor of the city of Osh.
This appointment was officially confirmed by a decree from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov.
Akayev, born in 1986 in the Aksy district of the Osh region, has solid experience in journalism and public service.
In 2009, he graduated with a degree in journalism from Osh State University.
From 2008 to 2014, he worked at the Kyrgyz service of the "Azattyk" radio station.
In 2015, Janar Akayev was appointed press secretary to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
From 2015 to 2021, he represented the interests of voters as a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh of the VI convocation from the SDPK party.
Then, in 2021, he was elected as a deputy of the VII convocation from the "Alliance" party.
Akayev is also the recipient of awards such as the "Golden Pen of Eurasia" (2011) and "Kurch Kalem" (2014).
He is married and raising three children.
