Project documentation for road facilities is first coordinated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, - Ministry of Transport
Temirov asked the First Deputy Minister of Transport Beknazar Bazaraliev about how cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs is carried out, how many accident-prone areas are identified on new and existing roads, as well as measures to address these problems. He also raised topics such as road widening, the construction of overpasses to reduce traffic jams, and the updating of road signs and markings.
In response to the questions, Bazaraliev noted that at the initial stage, the project documentation for road facilities must be coordinated with the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that deal with road safety, and only after that does the implementation of construction work begin.
“During the spring and autumn periods, inspections of the highways are conducted together with the competent services, based on the results of which accident-prone areas are identified. Each road organization is issued directives to eliminate deficiencies, and these problems are addressed step by step,” he added.
According to Bazaraliev, the needs for road signs are met thanks to the Production and Innovation Center at the ministry, which has been producing signs in the required quantities for several years. Additionally, within the framework of public-private partnership, a factory for applying thermoplastic road markings has been opened in the Sokuluk district.
Installation of median barriers on the main highways of the country continues, including the Bishkek—Naryn, Bishkek—Osh roads, and sections in the Issyk-Kul region, where such safety elements were previously absent due to a lack of funds, concluded Bazaraliev.
