Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Approved a Roadmap for Cooperation and Trade Agreements
During the discussions, Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that Kyrgyzstan is ready to increase the volumes of supplies of meat and dairy products, textile industry goods, coal, as well as glass products, including construction and special glass, and sugar.
The participants of the meeting decided to develop and sign a "roadmap", which will include specific steps, necessary measures, and responsible persons.
In addition, the Kyrgyz side proposed to consider the possibility of opening Trade Houses of Kyrgyzstan in Tajikistan and vice versa. This should promote the marketing of products, create direct connections between entrepreneurs, and form sustainable sales channels.
Kasymaliev also touched upon issues of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics. He emphasized the importance of improving the operation of border checkpoints and infrastructure at the border. This includes modernizing existing control points, increasing their capacity, as well as developing logistics and cargo terminals with the implementation of modern digital technologies in customs and border administration.
“Kyrgyzstan is ready to become the 'trade gateway' for Tajik goods to the markets of the EAEU and the European Union through the GSP+ system. Our country is implementing a large infrastructure project — the construction of the railway from China to Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan, which will significantly enhance our transit potential and strengthen Kyrgyzstan's position as a key logistics hub in the Eurasian space. This transport corridor also opens new opportunities for Tajikistan,” he noted.
Kasymaliev added that in 2025, Kyrgyzstan was visited by 86 thousand tourists from Tajikistan, which is 12 times higher than the figures for 2024.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Protocol of the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Council was signed, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding between the Center for Development and Promotion of Exports "Kyrgyz Export" under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan.
