The president's appeal to the Constitutional Court (CC) has become an important step in preventing a possible constitutional crisis, believes political scientist Bakytbek Zhumagulov, sharing his opinion with IA "Kabar".
He emphasized the significance of the actions taken by the head of state aimed at resolving the artificially created situation that could lead to a division in society.
Recall that discussions arose around the duration of the president's powers, and some figures began to demand early elections. At the same time, there is another viewpoint, according to which there are no legal grounds for holding unscheduled voting.
"In such a situation, it is extremely important that issues are resolved not under the pressure of politics, emotions, or street protests, but strictly within the framework of the law. The final word should remain with the competent legal body — the Constitutional Court, which is designated to resolve such situations," Zhumagulov emphasized.
He also added that the sooner a clear and legally justified explanation is provided, the less likely it is that this issue will become a tool for political manipulation and destabilization during the pre-election period.
In this context, the president's position on preventing a constitutional crisis appears logical and justified. However, for the stability of the state, not only political steps are important, but, first and foremost, transparent legal decisions that will be accepted and recognized by both society and political leaders, activists, and international partners.
"The current task is to reduce tension, eliminate mutual accusations, and transfer the issue to the legal plane. Any attempt to turn a legal dispute into a political conflict automatically increases the risks of instability," concluded political scientist Bakytbek Zhumagulov.
