Significant personnel changes have occurred in the State National Security Committee (GKNB). Following the appointment of a new head of the agency, three deputies of the chairman were removed from their positions.
According to information from the administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan, decrees have been issued relieving the following officials from their duties:
- Kurvanbek Avazov — First Deputy Chairman of the GKNB;
- Daniel Rysaliev — Deputy Chairman of the GKNB and Director of the Cybersecurity Coordination Center;
- Elizar Smanov — Deputy Chairman of the GKNB and Director of the Anti-Terrorism Center.
Acting as the new head of the committee is Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, whose candidacy will also be submitted to the Jogorku Kenesh for approval as Chairman of the GKNB.
Sadyr Japarov commented on the resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev.
