As a result of the conducted activities, 16 pawnshops were sealed, while inspections continue regarding other organizations.
To prevent the inflation of interest rates (which should not exceed 30%) and to comply with the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the Limitation of Usurious Activities" No. 163 dated July 24, 2013, the State Committee for National Security held explanatory talks with the owners and employees of the pawnshops.
The State Committee urges citizens to be vigilant and carefully read the documents they sign when applying for loans or engaging in property-related transactions. In case of fraudulent actions by pawnshop employees, including forced seizure of pledged property, it is recommended to contact the Main Department of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Issyk-Kul region by phone at (03922 5-11-80).
