- At a press conference during the B5+1 business forum held on February 4, Sergio Gor, the U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, announced plans to enhance cooperation between the United States and Central Asia in the coming years.

According to Gor, the current U.S. administration views Central Asia as one of the key areas in foreign economic relations.

“We intend to focus on this direction and develop it over the next three years. For a long time, the United States has not paid adequate attention to this region, and under President Trump, we plan to change that,” he noted.

Gor also reminded attendees of the increased interest in the region, which was demonstrated during last year's C5+1 meeting at the White House.

“As the C5+1 meeting demonstrated, this topic is receiving attention directly from the Oval Office. We see this as mutually beneficial cooperation that we will focus on,” added the special envoy.

Sergio Gor expressed the U.S. interest in expanding its economic and technological presence in Central Asia.

“We have advanced technologies and capabilities, and we want to work together with partners from this region,” he stated.

He also emphasized that the participation of American companies in the B5+1 forum is unprecedented.

“I have reviewed the list of American companies that have come here, and I can assert that this is one of the largest and most significant delegations to ever visit this region,” Gor noted.

According to him, cooperation will develop both in the medium and long term.

“This is just the beginning. The presence of our companies here opens new opportunities for cooperation between the five countries and the U.S. We intend to continue this work in the coming months and years,” he added.

Gor noted that joint initiatives will cover a wide range of areas.

“Together, participants will develop new ideas to expand commercial opportunities, including e-commerce, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, agriculture, transportation, and other sectors,” he reported.

In conclusion, Sergio Gor emphasized his personal interest in developing dialogue with the Central Asian regions.

“I am proud to have had the opportunity to meet with all five presidents of these countries. This is a unique opportunity that we have over the next three years under President Trump. I am determined to actively work in this direction in the coming years,” he said.
