- At the business forum dedicated to the strategic development of the Chui region, held on January 28, 2026, Kunduz Asanalieva, the head of a textile company, voiced the problems faced by the industry.

She noted that the lack of production capacity, absence of land resources, and industrial parks significantly hinder local producers from entering large export markets.

“When large federal retail chains request hundreds of thousands of units of products, we encounter issues related to land restrictions and insufficient capacity. Without the implementation of a cluster approach and the creation of industrial parks, it is extremely difficult for us to scale up exports,” emphasized Asanalieva.

The entrepreneur also pointed out that the textile industry in Kyrgyzstan is 85% dependent on imports, especially for raw materials, which negatively affects the cost of production. In this regard, she called for the development of industry clusters and an increase in land plots for production needs.

Asanalieva also highlighted the problem of a shortage of qualified personnel and proposed the introduction of dual education based on vocational schools in collaboration with businesses.

During the forum, it was suggested to engage in the recycling of textile waste. Askhatbek Majitov, a representative of a company that processes sewing waste, reported that their enterprise collects waste from Bishkek and recycles it into geotextiles, insulation materials, and carpet products, some of which have already been exported to Kazakhstan since the beginning of the year.
