
On January 21, 2026, employees of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB KR) together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic (SVR MVD KR) detained the district inspector of the GOM-3 of the Osh City Police Department, U.O.Sh., while he was receiving money.
According to information collected by the investigation, it was established that the detained officer used his official position for systematic extortion of money from foreign citizens working in Osh. Aware that these citizens lacked work permits, he demanded monthly sums ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 soms under the threat of fines and deportation in case of refusal.
The detained district inspector U.O.Sh. has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB KR.

Currently, the GKNB KR continues to conduct an investigation aimed at identifying other individuals possibly involved in this crime, as well as establishing additional facts of their illegal activities.
