- During the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development on January 19, 2026, Deputy Marlen Mamataliyev emphasized the importance of increasing control over products marked with the halal sign.

As an example, he cited sausages that are produced using this sign.

According to the deputy, in order to meet halal standards, the meat for sausages must come exclusively from animals slaughtered in accordance with established rules.

“Currently, many producers are labeling their products with the halal sign, and it is completely unclear whether these products actually meet the stated requirements,” he noted.

Mamataliyev also proposed introducing a traceability system that would allow tracking meat products from the moment of slaughter to the finished product on the shelf. This would ensure compliance with halal standards and protect consumer rights.

The discussion on this issue took place within the framework of the committee's work focused on the development of entrepreneurship and competition.
