One of the priority areas of work for the Department of Transport in 2025 was the weight and dimension control of vehicles, aimed at protecting public roads.
As a result of violations of weight and dimension norms under Article 181 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic, 4,587 protocols were issued, with a total fine amounting to 88.7 million soms. For comparison, in 2024, 2,490 similar violations were registered, amounting to 47.6 million soms.
Additionally, within the framework of weight and dimension control, the following amounts were collected:
- compensation for damage to roads — 15.46 million soms;
- fees for weighing and measuring parameters — 9.86 million soms.
Compliance with weight norms has a direct impact on the lifespan of road surfaces and safety on the roads, the department noted.
