On January 13, a meeting took place in Riyadh between Ulukbek Maripov, the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Saudi Arabia, and Deputy Minister of Energy Mohammed Abdulrahman Ibrahim.

During the meeting, possible areas of cooperation in the energy sector were discussed, including the implementation of joint projects aimed at creating renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power plants, as well as small and large hydropower stations on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

Maripov emphasized Kyrgyzstan's interest in more active cooperation with the Ministry of Energy of Saudi Arabia, including issues related to the supply of petroleum products. He also presented investment projects in the energy sector and proposed discussing participation in the exchange system of "green" projects for carbon credits.

Mohammed Ibrahim, in turn, supported the ideas regarding the need to strengthen energy cooperation, as well as trade and economic ties, expressing readiness to cooperate on all issues of mutual interest.

At the end of the meeting, Ulukbek Maripov conveyed a message from the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Talaybek Ibraev, addressed to the Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, inviting him to visit Kyrgyzstan at a convenient time.
