In Chuy Region, suspects detained for the abduction of a girl for the purpose of marriage

On January 13, 2026, a resident of the village of Kozhomkul, S.A., born in 2007, approached the police station in the Sokuluk district. In her statement, she reported that around 00:30 that same day, a somewhat familiar person named "N" approached her along with an acquaintance. Using physical force, they forcibly placed the girl in a "Step Wagon" vehicle with the intent of coercing her into marriage. This information was announced by the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui Region.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 172 (Kidnapping a person with the intent of marriage) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As a result of operational activities, police officers were able to identify the suspects. B.N., born in 2001, and Sh.N., born in 2002, were detained. They have been placed in a temporary detention facility.

The investigation of this criminal case is currently ongoing.
