Construction of the Orto-Tokoy Hydroelectric Power Station is 80% complete, - OJSC "Chakan HPP"

According to information from OJSC "Chakan HPP," construction work on the Orto-Tokoy HPP is nearing completion, reaching 80%. The installed capacity of the station is 21 MW, and the completion of all work is planned for the first half of 2026. As of January this year, the following results have been achieved:


  • The passage of the 950-meter diversion tunnel has been successfully completed;

  • Concrete work on the reinforced concrete lining of the water supply tunnel is underway;

  • The soils have been prepared and reinforced, and the walls of the chamber at the branching node have been erected;

  • Preparation for the installation of the tunnel interchange with three exits is ongoing: metal structures measuring 93.6 meters have been installed and welded at one of the exits, and 74.4 meters at another.


In addition, important stages of work have been completed in the hydroelectric power station building:


  • The construction of the main building of the HPP is 90% complete;

  • Reinforcement and concreting of columns for the lifting mechanisms of the spillway gates in the lower reach have been completed;

  • The installation of the roof frame has been completed;

  • Work on laying the roofing covering is ongoing;

  • The installation of hydro turbines No. 1, 2, and 3, as well as the disc gates, has been completed.
