The construction of the Orto-Tokoy Hydroelectric Power Station is planned to be completed in the first half of 2026.









According to information provided by the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, OJSC "Chakan HPP" has already completed about 80% of the construction work on the Orto-Tokoy HPP. Construction is actively continuing according to the established schedule.

Among the completed stages:


  • the 950-meter long diversion tunnel is fully ready;

  • concreting of the water supply tunnel is underway;

  • preparatory work and soil reinforcement have been carried out, and the walls of the chamber at the branching node have been constructed;

  • installation of the tunnel interchange with three exits is being prepared: metal structures with a length of 93.6 meters have already been installed in one of the exits, and 74.4 meters in another.
In addition, important construction stages have been completed in the hydroelectric power station building:


  • construction of the HPP building is 90% complete;

  • reinforcement and concreting of columns for the lifting mechanisms of the spillway gates of the lower reach have been completed;

  • the roof frame installation has been completed, and work on laying the roofing material is ongoing;

  • installation of hydro turbines No. 1, 2, and 3, as well as disk gates, has been successfully completed.
The installed capacity of the Orto-Tokoy HPP is 21 MW, and it is expected that all construction work will be completed in the first half of 2026.
