Food fairs continue in Bishkek and other regions of Kyrgyzstan, which will operate until June 2026. The Ministry of Agriculture of the republic assures that there is no shortage of essential food products in the country, and reserves are at a sufficient level. The main goal of these events is to provide the population with quality goods and support local producers.
Every Saturday and Sunday, trading rows are opened in Bishkek, organized jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture and the city administration. This allows local residents to purchase essential goods directly from farmers. Eliminating intermediaries significantly reduces prices compared to market rates, which, in turn, helps stabilize the price situation and supports socially vulnerable groups of the population.
For those who want to stock up on groceries for the week, there are two main trading venues in Bishkek. In the First May district, the fair takes place at the Usubaliev Square, as well as at the intersection of Razzakov and Abdymomunov streets, and on Erkindik Boulevard. Another popular location is in the Vostok-5 microdistrict along the embankment.
The organizers of the fairs strictly monitor the quality of the goods, so buyers can be assured of their compliance with hygiene standards. Each seller is required to provide documents from the district agricultural administration confirming the quality of the products. In addition, farmers must adhere to the condition that prices for their goods will be lower than market prices.
