
According to the National Statistical Committee, in January and February 2026, 1,428 individual residential houses were commissioned in the republic, with a total area of 198 thousand square meters.
Compared to the same period in 2025, this figure increased by 8.2 percent. Investments in fixed capital reached 6.1 billion soms.
Bishkek emerged as the undisputed leader in construction rates, as 390 new houses were put into operation in the capital, with a total area of 67.8 thousand square meters, which is 40.6 percent more than last year.
Local residents invested approximately 2.7 billion soms in construction.
The top three regions by the number of houses built also included Jalal-Abad region (267 houses) and Chui region (244). However, there is a 24 percent decrease in construction volumes in Jalal-Abad region.
The Talas (down by 18.5 percent) and Issyk-Kul (down by 6.1 percent) regions also showed negative dynamics. The lowest number of commissioned houses was recorded in Osh — only 22 houses.
The construction industry remains one of the key drivers of Kyrgyzstan's economy. Overall, in the first two months of 2026, production volumes in the construction sector increased by 23.2 percent. This is attributed to high domestic investment demand, which accounted for nearly 79 percent of total investments by the end of 2025.
