Regional distribution of milk production
Milk production in the republic is unevenly distributed. Three regions — Chui, Jalal-Abad, and Osh — account for 66% of the total milk volume in the country. Chui region, ranking fourth in terms of cattle population (17% of the total), produces more than a quarter of the total milk volume (26.3%), which is explained by the high productivity of the local herd.
Osh region, although it leads in the number of cows (22% of the total), ranks only third in milk production volume (19%). A similar situation is observed in Jalal-Abad region, where there are 21% of cows and 20.7% of milk production.
The cities of Bishkek and Osh contribute insignificantly to the total production, accounting for less than 1.1%. In Bishkek, production fell to 54% compared to 2024, while in Osh, the decrease was 88.1%.
